About us

We are striving to preserve and protect the last of the Croatian population of Griffon vultures as well as preparing the return of extinct vulture species to Croatia.  We are also committed to other endangered species of birds of prey and to the preservation of valuable nature reserves in Croatia.

The long-term goal of the association Grifon is to preserve the last of the Croatian population of Griffon vultures and to create conditions for their return to the Kvarner islands and their other former habitats, or colonies from which they are extinct (Učka, Paklenica, Zrmanja, Krka, etc. )

Also, we will try to achieve the conditions for return to Croatia regionally extinct species: Egytian vulture (Neophron percnopterus), Cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus) and Bearded vultures (Gypaetus barbatus).

The association Grifon has a special role in collecting scientific data on the most vulnerable species of birds of prey, educating school children and the general public about the importance of birds of prey and their role in nature.
